The situation

What was actually going wrong

The clinic wanted patients from outside its immediate area, including international enquiries, but was running a single conversion campaign pointed at a homepage. Enquiries arrived with no context, tracking could not tell which ads produced consultations, and the team had no way to tell an international enquiry from a local one until someone called.

The work

What I changed

1

Full-funnel structure replaced a single campaign

Cold audiences were given education and proof content rather than a booking ask. Retargeting handled the objections. Only the bottom of the funnel carried a direct consultation offer, which is where most single-campaign accounts go wrong.

2

Landing pages built for the decision, not the click

Dedicated pages replaced the homepage, structured around the questions patients actually research: graft counts, surgeon credentials, realistic timelines and total cost including travel.

3

Tracking rebuilt so every booking traced back

Pixel and Conversions API were implemented properly, with events that distinguished an enquiry from a booked consultation. For the first time the clinic could see which creative produced patients rather than clicks.

4

Geography handled deliberately

International and domestic audiences were separated with their own creative and messaging, because a patient flying in has entirely different concerns from one driving twenty minutes.

The takeaway

A hair transplant is a considered, high-value, often international purchase. Treating it like an impulse conversion is why most clinic accounts stall.

Straight answers

Questions about this work

Because cold audiences are not ready to book surgery. Asking for a consultation immediately produces expensive clicks and few patients. Sequencing the message to the stage of the decision is what makes the maths work.

When the procedure value is high enough to absorb travel, yes. It requires separate creative, clear total-cost messaging and a follow-up process built for time zones.

At minimum, server-side conversion tracking that separates enquiry from booked consultation, and ideally offline conversion import so the platforms optimise toward patients who actually attend.
